What sets mozilla apart are its add-ons. Though I have seen flock and have been quite impressed by it.

Mozilla firefox 3 is the way to go... its as light as feather and i m really impressed wit the speed @ which it loads GMAIL and other web 2.0 sites.. IE on the other hand sucks and Microsoft should stop usin bullyin tactics to enter from one market to another (remember how they destroyed hotmail and netscape)

Maneesh, I agree that in the future specialized browser could/should be the future. I'm not sure there's any money in it, but just like personalization in an app or website has gain dominance, a personalized browser make sense also.

With FF3rc2 crashing, could it be one of your addons? I switched to only using official releases because I'm addicted to Adblock, 1-Click Answers, and a couple other ones. They don't always work until the official version is released (or a couple of months later).

Darish, I'm not an MS-basher but IE has the unfair advantage of being partially embedded in the OS, so there are somethings it will always do better. The same thing is true for Safari on the Mac (opens up 5 times quicker than Firefox, but it's worth the wait ;-).

I have been hooked on to Firefox ever since I got introduced to it 3 yeas back.. but off late it has been playing games that I don't quite like.. especially the ver 3.0 RC2 has crashed more times than I can count... I feel the browser market will play an important role in the near future with players like flock (with its focus on social media) and others coming in.. browsers will soon target niche audience with specialized features... that's what I feel personally..

I would prefer using the Opera browser. It's more secure than firefox and ie. Go look at secunia.org

It also has all the features you mention in firefox. Infact most of them were Opera innovations that firefox borrowed.

It is also one of the leading activists in setting and defining Web standards, that help all web developers of the world.

It's a pity they don't get the support they deserve.

Oh, did you know that you can sync your bookmarks in your desktop browser with Opera Mini on your phone. Now that's cool. :)
