Update: Travelguru Founder has denied the story but speculation still exists and now the valuation is being pegged at 75 million $ and acquisition at a higher amount!

MTV Networks had entered into an agreement with Atom Entertainment to acquire the company, along with Shockwave and AddictingGames, for $200 million on August 10, 2006. Now, two years after acquiring it, MTV Networks has transformed Atom Films into Atom.com, an aggregator of short comedy clips which is a sister site to its Comedy Central network dedicated to short-form, Web-based comedy.

Well this is surely funding windfall 2.0 and if the earlier windfall was cut short by the dotcom bust this windfall will take some stopping if at all it can stop. The money seems to be pouring in from all directions in India. Those who have invested stay invested and are looking to invest some more and those who had invested earlier and gone back seem to be returing with more money this time around. Atleast that seems to be the case if you look at Canaan Partners and Walden venture Capital.

Seventymm.com was the first DVD rentals company that recieved million dollar funding in India. It used that funding to acquire a smaller player like madhouse.in mid last year. We also featured an interview with the founder of madhouse post the acquisition. Now even though it might have made that acquisition seventymm.com has hardly spent any amount of it 10 Million $ funding that it raised from VC’s like Matrix, DFJ and eplanet ventures. This article in PC World had me jump with joy. It spoke of Ubuntu being used as an operating system for Mobile devices. Ubuntu in my mobile, what could be better, I thought.
