Mohit Gupta Joins MakeMyTrip as CMO via WATJob
Mohit Gupta has joined online travel agency MakeMyTrip.com as chief marketing officer.
Earlier, Gupta was vice-president, marketing, flavours, at PepsiCo International.
Commenting on his move from offline to online marketing, Gupta says, “The intention is to participate and contribute in those areas of marketing which are showing a higher growth.”
He adds, “At MakeMyTrip.com, I will look after marketing strategy, communication, branding strategy and retail marketing. I will be involved in establishing MakeMyTrip.com as a complete travel services brand, instead of an airline ticket booking brand. MakeMyTrip is now focusing on other areas like hotel packages as well. We will be launching new services like bus travel bookings in the near future.”
Sachin Bhatia, who was earlier working as chief marketing officer, will now focus on new lines of business and decide on the next courses of action for the agency. Bhatia is also a cofounder of the agency.
MakeMyTrip is now looking at selling ‘Holiday’s’ rather than just tickets. It is looking at selling “holiday plus” packages. It has also decided to foray into Rail Search. Have a look at what’s happening in travel along with what travel companies can do in the future – HERE.
