Bollywood is fast turning into Bloggywood with every big actor looking to blog whether it is to take a dig at other actors or supposedly connect with fans or whether it is to promote one’s upcoming movies or TV shows. So following the footsteps of Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan is Salman Khan who is soon to be seen hosting Sony’s new game show Dus Ka Dum which is adapted from the western version known as “power of 10“.
Whats surprising that unlike Aamir who hosts his blog on aamirkhan.com and Amitabh who hosts his with BigAdda (and is supposedly been paid a BIG amount to do so) Salman’s Dus Ka Dum blog is being hosted on blogger.com instead on Dus Ka Dum official site if there is one which I couldn’t find.
Its a pity that Multi Screen Media (previously SET India Pvt Ltd) couldn’t afford to host the official dus ka dum blog on its own platform given the kind of marketing money that is behind this show. Infact the duskadum.com site redirects to a bloggers blog who seems to have booked the domain name even before the Sony guys thought about it.
This is a lesson to all those who take the digital engagement and marketing strategies lightly and are lazy or simply dont spend enough on the digital medium well enough to create the right buzz. Paanchvi paas which is a competitive show to Dus ka dum has left no stone unturned and is even going ahead and launching a game on a gaming site.
Infact the blogosphere has reacted to the salman blog questioning whether its authentic and also calling it a boring blog. Infact the low comments (only 60-70 comments) where as aamir and amitabh seem to command in 100′s and sometime 1000′s is testimony to the fact that the salman blog hasn’t really hit the right note. Lets hope the show does better than the blog.
The tactics applied by aamir and big b to get their blog into the spolight is not unknown to us. Well, dont expect Salman to do the same, because he is neither going to say nasty things about competitors nor does he need to slyly justify himself like the other two respective bloggers.
Salman is a man of the masses, he commands huge a huge fan following and a few people who crtitices for a living make no difference to him what so ever

salman khan doesnt have to prove a point anywhere and as he is he doesnt give a damn for anything said against him. i strongly belive that thisis not a marketing tactics for his TV show and more importantly a way to communicate his heart to his fans……we love him for wht he does true to his heart……and about teh number of comments ..my only comment is “QUALITY MATTERS NOT QUANTITY”..also thisis not any contriversy blog tht ppl tell their opinion and commnets its jst salam khans feelings and words. not much comment required to justify anything…hope teh critics and other idiots get this point
Apple made the same mistake, they didnt acquite Iphone.com early.
And after iphone was so popularly hyped they paid a seven digit sum$ to buy that domain …
