With aids on the rise and people becoming more open about marriages and relationships a trend of pre-marital checkup is rising. Keeping with the times matrimony sites which recently made a buzz about going 2.0 have now tiedup with health checkup services.

As per this article in businessline Bharatmatrimony has tied up with Metropolis Health Services India will jointly offer pre-marital check-ups for prospective brides and grooms with health profiles made available in the Web Site voluntarily by individuals.

According to Mr Murugavel Jankiraman, CEO, Bharatmatrimony.com “This will make matchmaking on the Web more transparent”

With India being high on the radar for STD’s like aids and both China and West asia making pre-marital health check-up compulsory it makes sense for a matrimony player to look at offering such services. Though given the conservative outlook of Indians this may not cut across the masses as far as matrimony is concerned but will surely appeal to the urbane audiences on these matrimony sites. Going forward it wont be surprising to see health, financial and criminal checks as being a part of the matrimony profiles.
