Paanchi Paas might have been termed as Paanchvi Fail by Amitabh Bachchan on his controversial blog but that hasn’t stopped the people behind Paanchvi to look at ways to extend their reach beyond the regular TV audience to other niche audiences through the use of new media.

 paanchvi

Paanchvi has announced plans to launch paanchvi paas games on Indiagames as well as DTH. “This is the first time a television licensed show has gone beyond television to multiple formats, and is reaching out to consumers through so many touch points,” said Ms Nanette D’Sa, Senior Vice-President (Licensing and Merchandising), Star India to businessline.

Paanchvi Paas had launched a facebook game prior to the launch of the programme and also done some really cool on ground marketing through cups which we also blogged about. Despite all these efforts its seems IPL has taken the wind out of the strong sail build by the Paanchvi marketing.

Paanchvi backers are hoping thats post the IPL people would come back to watching TV programmes and hence this move of extending its reach beyond regular TV would be well timed.
