Redbus.in goes Mobile. Uses M – Commerce Tools

A while back we wrote about Redbus.in going regional – Redbus tickets can now be booked via your mobile phones. They’ve basically developed an application that’s available from multiple sources. Check this release for more.

They have partnered with ngpay – an m – commerce tool provider. The tool requires you to sync your bank account to your mobile phone and then use a 6 digit pin for transactions. While the initiative is great I think their partnership with ngpay will ensure that users first sign up with ngpay and then pay Redbus – which makes the procedure complicated. Simplicity is what’s required. This probably makes the process long drawn.

No SMS oriented transaction is offered as well. For a Bus service – I think an SMS oriented transaction tool is more apt. Paymate a better option – anyone?

my personal view is companies like redbus do not have a sustainable business model until they can integrate all aspects of tickets…now view this a person go to a travel site to book an airline ticket ,then go to site like redbus for bus tickets…i mean this in itself is complicated….so in ticket or travelling space a site integrating all aspects of ticketing like bus train airline ,concerts wud do well nd they can even launch there payment system which wud be more successful than current copycats model…..

Agree with your view Raghav, and that is infact what ngpay offers. I have downloaded ngpay sometime back, and it makes a lot of sense. They offer various solutions all from one platform. Travel includes air with Deccan, Make my trip and rail with IRCTC.
They offer movie tciketing with Fame and INOX and gifting with Archies and Fern and Petals.
ngpay claims to be India’s largest mobile mall and have recently even introduced utility bill payment.
All this from one app is kinda cool. They are tied up HDFC bank for M banking as well. Best of all they are completely free to the customer.

Travelyaari is an online bus tickets service provider. It is the only fully online bus ticket reservation system in India. It has the largest bus ticket inventory for more than 1000 routes in India. View bus seating arrangement before you book.
