Ravi Singh the 35 Year old CEO of ElectionMall.com is handling the accounts of Obama and Hillary Clinton for the current election campaign. Hindustan Times did an interview with him, which can be read here (he talks about who is better between the 2 with respect to using Social Media and the Internet). Incidentally, Singh’s company is running 634 Online Campaigns.

The company wants to set up an R & D Lab in India. They have an array of products, which are quite interesting to look at. The products use standard web based technology mashups but they are perfectly geared for a political client. An interesting model with respect to how an entire vertical can be owned using contextual software.

Some of the interesting products they have built are an e – Campaign Scheduler that allows a web page to post events and allows users to RSVP. Think – a politician is hosting a Rally and he wants to invite hundreds of people to RSVP (this would work in India using the mobile platform for sure). There is also a Press Release Tool, which has a few templates and key formats included. Apart from that it has a testimonial tool, a Q n A Tool, a videos tool, a standard social networking tool and many others – they can be checked out here.

They have sorted all these tools into relevant categories. I would say none of the tools that they have are super innovative. They just have their communication well sorted. And the communication appeals to the ‘political types’. That’s something to take into account. They also have a one size fits all approach. It works well for them. Spend some time on their site – you’ll probably dig up a whole lot of insights yourself.
