Hello, Twitter Calling. Are You There?
There are various ways to access twitter. But the most common way people access their tweets is through mobile. It allows users to send tweets in the form of SMS which at times gets boring. I mean one can really get pissed of replying to their friends via SMS again and again. Therefore a service that could convert voice to text and then post it on twitter would be a huge hit. Twitsay, Twittergram and others have realized this and grabbed the opportunity. And now it’s an Irish Entrepreneur, Pat Phelan who has joined the league. He launched a beta service called TwitterFone.

So what exactly is a TwitterFone?
TwitterFone is free service that allows you to update your Twitter feeds using your voice from any mobile phone. All you need to do is a simple call then speak your tweet that’s it and message will be posted to Twitter along with a link to the recording. In case your message exceeds 140 characters limitations, only the first part will be transcribed, but you still have the excess to the entire recording (The recording time limit is for 15 seconds).
It can be really be handy when you are traveling or in a meeting and even when you are in a Wi-Fi deserted place.
While it can be a killer application it has some drawbacks too. It doesn’t have going back or a simple delete option, which I guess would shortly come.
Currently it is available in US, UK and Ireland but they are adding more to the list. Besides that service is only available in English and Japanese feature is expected in 8 weeks.
While for those who still love to access twitter from their Mac here is some cool news for you. I found this article from tuaw.com (An unofficial Apple weblog). It is as flows:
Twitterverse (A Twitter Quartz Composer included as a part of Mac OS X developer tools for Leopard) when tweaked right can be used as a screen saver and can be used to see all your tweets in a graphical way. You can find this Quartz composition in the ~/Developer/Examples/Quartz Composer/Compositions/XML/The Twitterverse/The Twitterverse.qtz. If you want to add it as a screen saver, just drag it onto the preview in the “Screen Saver” part of the Desktop & Screen Saver preference pane (in System Preferences.app). You can then add your username / password in the screen saver options.

Twitter is surely a handy social media tool. And when used it effectively one can create wonders. People have been using it for various purposes like business, marriage proposals, to save a life, breaking news and what not. Apparently when you search on the web regarding twitter you will find two kinds of posts. One praising twitter for being a killer application while others talking about the negative side of twitter. I found this video which states that twitter is about getting laid with middle age women. Have a look and let me know if you agree with it.
