Tata Indicom now allows all prepaid customers to access its ‘i-choose’ platform.

Customers can enter their mobile numbers, select a recharge amount and pay via their credit cards for instant top ups.

We also have news that 2 firms have now been given licenses to sell recharge vouchers across India across brands. So in effect you will have a one stop shop for top ups across brands. They too are likely to opt for a similar model because it gives the consumer a generic benefit – the service is ‘time saving’. I don’t know how much traction such a feature can currently generate because users can only pay via net banking.

More features for prepaid customers are likely to be added on the website.

Incidentally both Tata Indicom and Reliance are now apparently offering Wi – Max services to consumers at 2 MBps at reasonable prices. This is supposed to be Fixed Wireless so im assuming that the Wi – Max frequency will be converted into Wi – Fi for end point consumption. I have some information but im still trying to gather more resources. Anyone has further details?
