Watch Trends on Twitter: Twist Launched

One often uses Google Trends to analyse the zeitgeist of our times. And no wonder. Google now reflects our tastes, preferences et al by examining our search queries and combining all search queries possible to give an indication of pop culture by region.
The service has been pretty handy and has inspired other networks where users pour in data to launch similar services.
Facebook has Lexicon, which was recently launched. It basically allows the user to see the occurrence of words and phrases on walls over time (I think they should screen status updates as well).
Twitter doesn’t have an official in house trends product of their own, but Flaptor just released one called Twist. It shows graphed results of queries over time. Users can even go directly to the Twitter messages containing those terms. (it doesn’t work for me)
You can probably go directly to the messages because of Flaptor’s other app – Twitter Search (this also doesn’t work for me).
