Many Internet pundits thought that Yahoo’s decision to decline Microsoft’s bid was inappropriate. But I strongly disagree. Yahoo! has been working hard to revive its lost charm.
According to the latest report although Yahoo search engine users have declined but when it comes to web search ad market it has started gaining more than Google. A research by the Marketing firm SearchIgnite shows Yahoo out pacing Google in spending on search advertising, ad viewer ship and click-through rates during the first quarter. Besides that recently it has also tweaked its search engine technology.

While Yahoo beats Google for search ads. Google still tops for search queries.
SearchIgnite said: Yahoo’s first-quarter share of search spending by selected advertisers rose to 23 percent of the market, up from historic levels of 18 percent to 19 percent. Google’s dominant search advertising share dipped to 71.1 percent from 74.9 percent the previous quarter
Referring to the SearchIgnite data, RBC analyst Ross Sandler said: “Yahoo increased its share of wallet meaningfully for the first time in several quarters.”
Yahoo shares have gained by 36cents, or 1.3% compared to $28.16. While Google shares price has dipped $1.15 to $450.51.
As US economy is facing crisis there are several questions being raised that is the Google’s explosive growth in search advertising affected by the economy?
We might get the answers on Thursday, when Google’s quarterly report will be out.
Meanwhile, Yahoo is looking out for a helping hand to resist or raise the bid by Microsoft. With the kind of improvements Yahoo has shown recently, I personally feel that it is better it continues its journey as Yahoo rather than being called Micro-Hoo! Or something else.

the increase in yahoo’s search advertising share is evidently because of its latest entry, while google’s growth has quiet a bit saturated while yahoo is still adding customers which have yet to start using their services
yahoo or microsoft can even in dream out grow google in its search advertising business, its the lack of innovations at yahoo and microsoft the primary problem
