Choice is good for the customer. So far as it does not confuses her. This happened with the travel sites. With as many as six major players vying to help you fly, the customer had a tough time deciding where to go (for help?). And so, there was a need which can collate the information from all these websites and put them in a single page. Zoomtra.com did that and I now find mostly logging in to Zoomtra to find the best deals.
A similar problem is arising in the Indian online shopping industry. E-commerce in general and Online Shopping in particular are big. Rediff, Indiatimes, Sify, FutureBazaar.com are some of the bigger players in the game. The players, at times, offer deals which may be better than the ones available on the rest of the others. For one to find the best deal, she has to visit the websites and make a note of what is available where. AllIndiaDeals.com automates this process by collecting the price information from various e-shopping sites and displaying them on its own website. The press release says that the site has recently been “’revamped. And to be honest, I quite liked the interface design.
I tested the website and looked for iPod. Sure enough, it showed me results from all the major Indian e-shopping websites. The results were shown as clear big pictures. A god use of AJAX here colors the complete block of one particular result as soon as the mouse moves over it. The design was pleasant to the eyes and navigation was not that much of a problem.
I would however like to see far more numbers (in results) and a filtering mechanism. Thee\re is a section for “Submit a deal”, which they should be promoting more aggressively.
Another suggestion is to work more on the interface. As I mentioned, the design is descent, but it needs to be more sophisticated and cutting-edge. I would recommend a good deal of AJAX here.

“A god use of AJAX here colors the complete block of one particular result as soon as the mouse moves over it”
Looks interesting - I will try it out today.
Following review comments from my side:
1. Site is accessible through http://allindiadeals.com and not through http://www.allindiadeals.com. This is a minor fix and should be done.
2. The site as of now is very slow. Even from a very high speed connection (at my office :-)) its still taking more than a minute to load and search contents which should be worked upon.
Amit,
I appreciate your feedback.
1. Check the dot between the com and slash (/) in the link you posted. Try this link http://www.allindiadeals.com
2. We will certainly work more to improve the performance, however the problem you are facing might be some temporary network issue.
I just check the loadtime and here is the data for homepage load:
56K 19.49 seconds
ISDN 128K 10.27 seconds
T1 1.44Mbps 6.55 seconds
I request you to please try again. It should be fine.
Cheers,
Nidhi
