Yahoo India Shows (Walking) Directions. In Regional Languages

After driving directions, Yahoo India has launched the much needed, walking directions for the Indian users. Moreover, the directions are available in 9 local languages.
A very useful feature indeed. Many a times, we are just blocks away from the destinations. Yahoo has introduced exactly what we want at this point – walking directions. Putting it in local languages only further ensures that it will have access to the maximum number of people.
I tested the service and was overwhelmed. I tried searching for directions from Colaba to Churchgate (in Mumbai). You can see the results in the screenshots below.
The first screenshot shows the way Yahoo map showed on the map. Notice a small link that says “Hindi” on top right hand side.
This is the second screenshot; it was adjacent to the first one, to the right. It shows the directions, in text. Notice a small link called “Walk This Route”
And the final screenshot had step-by-step direction on how t
o reach the destination.

amazing feature! i’d love to see how it works in areas that not as well known as colaba and churchgate.
