Exclusive: Gulrez Alam Quits Communicate2 Starts His Own SEM Firm Resultrix!

Just got a mail from Gulrez who was till now the Group Head - Paid Search at Communicate2 and had joined communicate2 over a year and half back after he left Webchutney has now turned entrepreneur and launched his own Search Engine Marketing firm Resultrix.
Resultrix is currently in what you would call in web terms “Closed Beta Phase” i.e. the company has not officially launched but as per my conversation with Gulrez there seem to be some other experienced people as well who will be joining resultrix.
They plan an official grand launch by May and the current website promises that “The delivery standards in the Search industry are soon to change and benchmarks will be raised higher as this team of experienced and passionate search enthusiasts from the best names in the industry join hands and bring you a never before display of marketing prowess.”
It will be fun to see how this new venture does given that two SEM Giants Communicate2 and Pinstorm are already 100+ people in staff size and are very very aggressive when it comes to acquiring and retaining clients. Infact Pinstorm recently tied up with Lintas to offer its services to Lintas traditional advertising clients. Over all on a industry perspective there is a lot of scope for smaller SEM firms to be acquired by larger media companies like the way it happened to searchize which was bought over by Percept knorigin. We should surely see more such consolidation news as far as specialist digital marketing and sem firms are concerned this year as well.

loosing Gulrez is definitely a sad news for c2,
But personally what i feel is Till Vivek Bhargava is there behind C2 nothing can stop c2.
Still i wish Gulrez best of luck.

True that C2 is pretty strong as long as Vivek stays there.
But, there’s a lot which is going to happen over the next few years and the plates may change to pave the way for new industry leaders.
You really cannot under-estimate anyone at this point of time, we’re at the gate to gala time w.r.t to digital marketing firms.
And yes, many firms like us would also catch a piece of the action..
