When it comes to physical product classifieds unlike jobs and matrimony the problem of evaluation the product without actually seeing it comes into focus. As taking a decision online becomes pretty tedious as all the products look the same. This is especially true for property classifieds where its very difficult to judge just by the classified listings as to how the property might be.

So Makaan.com which had launched a less than impressive viral recently has launched its ‘makaan rating’ system. This is a user generated rating that will allow users to rate the properties on the basis of usefulness of the listings. This will be useful non relevant ads which over hype certain aspects of property in the listing would get pointed out by serious buyers who visit the property and dont have a good enough experience.

This feature can also be counter productive as flat sellers could pull each others listings down to showcase their listings better. But according to Aditya Verma, business head makaan.com The new rating system is a powerful tool that will allow users to assess property listings themselves, and hence rate their experience of interacting with the seller. According to him this initiative will help in getting measurability in the system.

Makaan.com is owned by People Interactive Group and is one of the latest entrants in the property classifieds market which is lead by 99acres.com of naukri followed by indiaproperty of Consim Info.
