Youtube has been at the centre of attraction lately where its been making one interesting announcement after another and with each one taking its video platform to another level. So if you thought that the traction at youtube and the zest for more innovation would have stopped with a 1.65 billion dollar acquisition by big bro Google? Think again..

Youtube which started as a web-only platform was bought to mobile phones with amazing viewing quality by Apple’s iPhone. Now another company which goes by the name of TiVo which is a leader in television services for digital video recorders (DVRs) announced its partnership with Youtube that will offer access to YouTube videos directly from the TV via a TiVo DVR. The service will be available later this year to broadband-connected subscribers with TiVo Series3(TM) DVRs, including the new TiVo HD in the US. Im wondering when such a service will come to India??

If the above is not enough Youtube recently announced analytic tracking for its videos i.e. you will now who watched your video? Where he came from? Which geographical location etc etc.. There is also a comparitive metric on which other videos are popular in the same geography. Given the fact that youtube was bought by Google in 2006 its taken it quite long to come out with analytics. One can check ones video stats by clicking under the “About this Video” button under My account > Videos, Favorites, Playlists > Manage my Videos.

So If Internationally Youtube is raising the bar what is its India strategy? Well WATShow.com caught up with Harbinder Narula Content Acquisitions Head of Google who spoke to us about the following:

1) Youtube’s India Strategy?

2) Integration of Youtube with Other Google Services?

Check out the video on this link.

Do let us know your thoughts on what you think should be Youtube’s strategy in India. Personally I would love to have access to youtube video’s on TV and possible every handheld device.
