Starboxoffice.com

Star TV India has launched its Bollywood portal StarBoxOffice.com. The portal boasts of all the goodies expected from a film portal. I checked out the portal and found the design to be a bit loud and in-your-face. There are film reviews. And film ratings categorized under three heads, SBO(Star Box Office), Critics and Users. And there were box office collections. However, just popping in the collection numbers of every film might be a little baffling. A notification about the status of the movie (Blockbuster, Superhit, Hit, Average, Flop) would have been more helpful to the user.

A “Rate The Star” feature gives you a profile of the popular movie stars, complete with their filmography. As the name goes, the user of the website can rate the star. Not a very useful feature, I would say.

Another feature was “Dus Ya Bus”. Something similar to HotOrNot.com. Only here, you rate your stars on a scale of 1 to 10. Not a very useful feature again.

There is nothing at StarBoxOffice.com that can offer you something that you have not seen already. There was no novelty. And nothing that held my attention.

Films are hot in India. A dhang-ki filmy website will do well in India. But relax, Starboxoficeinida.com is definitely that.

well u r rite Ankit…nothing much extra-ordinary…everything that we have already seen….but starboxoffice.com has got it all that we know previously….some useless features of rate the stars….rather to make it interesting what they can do is to really deliver the award to the star whom the public likes the most….but that again would be a small venture as compared to the viewer’s choice awards as held annually…..
