Recently I read an interesting article on Crenk which states that Firefox user numbers are largest in the Oceania region. The Oceania region includes Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

Almost one in three web users in the Oceania region – 31 per cent – were using Firefox, compared to 28 per cent in Europe and 21 per cent in the US, XiTi (The French Web Survey Firm) said.

Europe stands second on basis of maximum Firefox users. Let us have a look at the stats.

The XiTi report also shows that popularity of Internet explorer in Europe had reduced in December 2007 as compared to November 2007. While other internet browsers like Opera and Safari had increased.

Asia has 16.5% Firefox users being the least while Africa has around 16.6%.

The user friendly plug-in provided by Firefox are one of the key features which makes the users life much easy. This has played a vital role in making Firefox much popular. Though Firefox has some flaws but yet it continues to be people’s favorite. I think that within next few years it will surely overtake the Internet Explorer population in major part of the world specially India, unless Microsoft comes out with something new.
