I hadn’t heard of Mr.India Haywards 5000 till I read this press release on him launching his own website. While it may seem a trivial news it does make me question whether online is the best way for bollywood/fashion aspirants and fame seekers to achieve what they want?

 mr india

Though Mr.India’s website may not be the best example of execution as it seem prehistoric with a flash intro and static images etc. (Maybe a blog like aamir khan or something more interactive might have been more appropriate.. If incase he wanted to engage with an international audience given the fact that he is participating in the Mr. International that is soon to take place.)

But in general I feel online could be the next destination for upcoming actors, models, artistes even directors etc to strut their stuff. Maybe there in lies an opportunity for a startup that helps showcase these talents. We’ve discussed about short film fests and other such talent hunt online contests before. Even Online buzz is already being considered as a road to box office success as more and more film-maker are becoming online savvy and I wont be surprised if the same medium becomes a platform for talent to reach the heights of fame.

  1. Dear Rajiv, thanks for your post on http://www.praveshrana.com. Well, I hadn,t heard of WAT till I read your post–so your point’s well taken. Surely, the net is the best way for fame achievers. As far as his static & pre-historic site is concerned, as long as as its search-engine optimised, simple & serves the purpose, any and every website is good. What is important is people logonto it. Since, we have launched it, 4 queries for fresh assignments for Pravesh have already materialised with top brands. Thanks for your feedback anyways. tx rahul mittra ceo Brandsmith

  2. Thanks for your comment Rahul. Im sure the website will bring results for pravesh. My point was had it been more interactive in nature it would have had 10 times the impact in the long run than what it would have in its current state.
