Channel V Head Amar Deb Chucks Job To Become Internet Entrepreneur!
The internet scene is hot and what better proof than big media company head chucking their jobs to start an internet startup. Channel V’s Head Amar Deb has quit his job at the channel to go on his own and start an internet venture which will be centered around the entertainment space. He has been supported by his partner Ashutosh Bijoor who is the managing director of Reach1to1.com another internet venture.

According to agencyfaqs the web venture shall be launched in four-six months and currently Amar Deb is in talks with various media players and content creators to organise operations for the venture. Though the fact that traditional media head honcho’s are quitting their jobs to jump into the internet space Id actually like to see more and more college students doing the same.
If one looks at the US its evident that youth is the one that is driving the innovation in web and mobile consumer internet space so be it the google founders who were still in college or facebook founder who is still just 23 or digg’s kevin rose who is still in his late twenties. All of these great entrepreneurs in internet space were already dabbling with both the internet and entrepreneurship while still in college. That is a culture and ecosystem that is still not prevalent in India but Im hoping as more and more internet awareness and usage increases such cases would be a common phenomenon in the Indian scene as well.
