LimeSpot The Company Behind LimeWire.com Launches LimeExchange.com for India!
Im sure many of you might have used or atleast have heard of limewire (the media and file sharing P2P desktop application). Limespot the company behind limewire has now launched a website known as limeexchange.com which is a platform for services exchange i.e. projects/assignments can be posted by companies and sellers of services can bid for a project and the timeline. This model is very similar to a elance or a rentacoder.
Currently the site invites website developers, designers, programmers, accountants, legal counsels, writers and others to list their services and invites smb’s to post projects and service providers to bid for them.
“We are launching the platform from India as the country is a major hub that attracts professionals for outsourced work,” said Lime Spot’s Head of India Operations, Mr Pawan Agarwal.
Its interesting that an international company like limespot chose a services exchange model to enter the Indian market. Given that their limewire product is used to download music in a big way I would have expected them to do something around music sharing on the web. But i must say though overdone abroad the services exchange model in India has few competitors and maybe its just the right time also given that internet and mobile development is on the rise.

I think this is a GREAT platform for small and medium businesses. I am quiet hopeful that soon this will be a hit in the market.
Outsourcing has become backbone of many SMBs. Small businesses don’t have a big budget to fill functions like marketing and IT. They would much prefer hiring the talent they need when they need it.
The service called LimeExchange (www.limeechange.com) is designed to help buyers by posting their job requirements and specifying what they are willing to pay. Service providers bid on the jobs, and LimeExchange provides a rating system to help buyers evaluate providers. Buyers also can browse freelancers’ profiles on LimeExchange.
LimeExchange helps users manage projects on the site by posting messages and doing Instant Messaging.
Forming relationships with key partners can move an organization forward and that is where LimeExchange community feature at its best. LimeExchange enables buyers and service providers to stay connected even after a project engagement has been successfully completed through it’s unique connections feature. The “Connections” features enable the buyers and service providers to communicate, share ideas, refer, and recommend each other.
Large companies have already discovered the benefits of Outsourcing and Global Business. With LimeExchange, managing global teams is as easy as logging in- whether your budget is $100 or $100,000.
Affirmative. Saw it yesterday and I feel they have done a good job. Though the concept of this business is already there, I bet these are smart people and there are definitely some new features they have added. http://limeexchange.com
