Im sure everyone who is an indian has heard of the Lead India campaign which was heavily marketed and publicized by TimeofIndia group. The direct beneficiary of the lead india campaign was Rajendra Misra the winner of the reality show and an ex internet entrepreneur who scaled and sold off traveljini.com to ICICI Ventures and since has been an angel investor as well.

Misra who also used his blog and mytoday’s sms services to market himself during the lead india campaign has now expressed that he will be launching a social media site known as www.ChangeIndia.in on March 1 which according to him will provide members with email IDs and they will be allowed to create their personal pages, on which they can share their political and social views. It will also have discussion forums to discuss political and social issues.

So it seems Mr. Misra will launch a social network with a social and political twist. I have personally heard Mr.Misra speak at the IIT E-Summit recently and I must say he does come across as a no nonsense businessman with a good sense of humor and some nice quotes. It will be interesting how he approaches this attempt at taking to the web and creating a community of sorts around social and political views and whether or not it can become a platform and not a self promotion engine for a wannabe politician.

However, leaving that murky quality aside Rajiv does some excellent analysis of the digital media industry in India and often puts many in discomfort with his inimitable style of interviewing.
