Guruji has launched a mobile version of its search site. One does not need to go on another url and just keying in guruji.com on one’s wap/gprs phone is good enough to land you to the mobile version.

guruji mobile

Search on mobile isn’t a new service as even another indian player onyomo.com has had a mobile search on owap.in since over 10 months that we first used it. Mobile search is ofcourse a more lucrative market these days as more and more people go mobile enabled and more and more users subscribe to wap/gprs. Guruji though needs to quicken its pace of churning out features as this mobile feature should have been launched atleast 6 months back if not earlier.

Besides for going mobile sometime back guruji also added gujrati as a language to its already existing local language search in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. If you ask me local language could be one area where guruji could have its usp this is because I dont think guruji can beat justdial.com in sheer size and depth of data and onyomo in innovation on the mobile and usability on the web. Also as a vertical player burrp has taken the lifestyle segment so i think what guruji is doing better is going regional. Im not sure how big the market currently is but surely if one is to go local in the real sense regional languages will play a big role.

  1. You should try Justdial’s WAP search it’s superfast. Also they have this SMS search on 53999 it beats onyomo.
