Microsoft India Releases First Facebook App – TechHeroYaZero

Microsoft paid a big price for a small pie of the facebook action last year. Some may say that wasn’t it far cheaper to build an app for facebook? After all facebook’s open platform allows anyone (even google’s applications) to be promoted through apps on facebook. Well the reasons for buy a slice of facebook have been discussed before. But now Microsoft India has gone ahead and done what it should have done atleast 8 months back i.e. launch a facebook application.

tech hero ya zero

Microsoft has launched a facebook application known as TechHeroYaZero. This application is a simple rating application that lets you rate your friends as tech hottie or nottie. Inshort how tech savvy are your friends. This application is part of the promotional campaign Heroes Happen (Here) through which microsoft plans to promote and invite tech enthusiasts for the launch celebration of 2008 versions of its product Windows Server Visual Studio SQL Server.

It is going to be conducting launch celebrations across delhi, mumbai, banglore in movie theatres like Rex (Delhi), Regal (Mumbai) & PVR(Bangalore). Microsoft has also launched a game on zapak as well for the promotion.
