Moving on from the “cash prizes” handed over to the Business Plan competition winners, the business schools have now moved to awarding the winners by actual funding - something that makes much more sense for wannabe entrepreneurs.
IIM-Calcutta’s annual business plan competition i2I 2008 will have Seedfund considering
investments in two of the winning teams - Mudranik and UniApply.
Mahesh Murthy, partner in Seedfund said,
“We are keen on both plans, and we are working out terms for funding them”
Mudranik offers something called a self publishing services to the user. So, a user can design their own books and sell them on an online platform using tools from Mudranik. Mudranik is formed by Abhaya Agarwal, Jaya Jha and Sachin Agarwal.
Kamlesh Ladhad, Kaustubh Gupta and Ranjan Banerjee were the part of the team behind UniApply, which aims to provide a portal for colleges and courses available across India. The site is aimed towards the Indian students.
