
Indianwomenshealth.com is a website launched by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). The website, targeted at the Indian women provides useful information on various issues pertaining to the women’s health. “We are particularly trying to reach working women, who we have learnt use the Internet a lot to find information. Also, as we are getting into the category of women’s health, there is a degree of education and awareness that needs to be created, for which the Internet is the best medium,”
GSK, handled by JWT, will be spending close to 10% of its media spend on online medium.
The website will, at later stages, focus on building a community around Indian women through interactive features like forums, blogs, groups, and live chats.
To promote the site, display banners at websites like Yahoo, refiff and Webdunia have been places.
The launch of Indianwomenshealth.com is another indication towards a growing trend where brands are increasingly becoming aware of an interactive medium like blog. By educating the consumer and providing information that she is looking for, brand can form a deeper connect with the consumer.
