MBD Alchemie Partners With IBM For Providing Online Eductional Content

After the first India UK virtual school there has been plenty of companies who have stepped into the business of e-learning. Few days back IIT lectures and entrance test went online with mock test for entrance test on Tata Indicom Mobiles. Now, MBD Alchemie has partnered with IBM for delivering e-learning courses.
MBD Alchemie, will be using the IBM’s technology to provide high quality education material for students, teachers, parents, government, institutions and corporate. MBD Alchemie provides a catalogue covering all the national and state content in all the Indian languages. The portal will not only help students in self study but will help parents to check their wards progress report and discuss it with the mentors. It also allows the authors and the institutions to put in their best educational matter and hence aid in the development of the student.

On this, Mr. Ramesh Narasimhan, Director – General Business, IBM India/South Asia, said, “We look forward to working with MBD Alchemie to build an educational ecosystem for millions of students and provide them with quality content to build a better eco-system.”
This is very similar to other online educational services. But, it’s good to hear that the educational system in India is improving. Companies are not only focusing in making big money but also trying to improve the education. The e-learning industry in India is growing, from 7 billion $ in 2004 to 28 billion $ by 2008.
This can prove to be useful for the rural areas as there is very little exposure but a huge need for education in these places. E-learning is becoming a huge market for companies to invest their time and money in. There are many players in this area which has huge potential.
