Ibibo which was recently in the news for roping in Ravi Shastri for a cricket blog has been pumping in marketing dollars as if their pockets are never ending. We wrote about how Ibibo was sponsoring movies like Jab We Met and also launched a Public ka Vitt Mantri which we criticized in our earlier post. Now there is another tie up/sponsorship on the scene (Via contentsutra). This time ibibo has gone ahead and tied up with MTV for their next tv reality show iSuperstar!

As part of the association ibibo has also roped in VJ Sophie to blog on ibibo. Simply put iSuperstar is a Dance competition for the common man as the content on ibibo introduces the show as ” Think you can dance like a Bollywood star?”.
The site also states that 18 ibibo members will be groomed by Bollywood’s best stylists and choreographers and selected to perform live on MTV.

Now that sure is some pull for youth to jump on to sign up on ibibo! Full marks to ibibo for getting the marketing strategy right this time but what about after the show? Will the users stick on? I was speaking to a large publication journalist recently to whom i mentioned that gaining traffic and registrations and gaining traction and stickiness are two different things! While ibibo seems to be doing the former very well its the later that will count in the long run!
