Cleartrip.com Launches Online Railway Travel Search

Few days back we had discussed about MakeMyTrip.com launching online railway booking for the railway packages that are available on the website. Recently Cleartrip.com has announced a beta launch of Cleartrip’s New Train Search on www.cleartrip.com/trains. This facility will enable the users to search train route and compare fares of most of the trains in India.
We were informed about this by Naina Rastogi from Cleartrip.com. She said,” The Cleartrip train search features our trademark simplicity and some unique features like blazing fast search results, search multiple stations in a city with a single search instead of having to search, compare fares for multiple fare classes on the same screen, instant sorting and filtering of search results, details for all train routes & railway station”.
However, “search multiple stations in a city with a single search”, is not a unique feature http://erail.in/ has been offering this feature for a while. We tested the site www.cleartrip.com/trains and it worked reasonably well.

It does Train Ticket Availability Search and delivers PNR Status update alerts to cell phone.
Both these work very well. While the speeds of Train Search leaves a bit to be desired, the PNR updates rock! Give it a swing.
