Jobs and Gadgets most searched by Indians online
Are you a gadget buff and do online research before buying a consumer electronic? Yes, a research has proved that Indians are moving online to make a comparison of price and features, shortlisting models based on the combination of price and value for money.
Indians, by nature, prefer recommendations and word-of-mouth rather than just going for brand name. Now, they are acting even smarter and moving online to look, feel & visualize things before buying.
I give you an example, if you are thinking to buy a new mobile phone – you can check out reviews at mobile-review.com, you can compare the sizes of mobile phones with SizEasy even test drive mobile handsets at tryphone.
To add more, you can participate in various related discussion forums and orkut communities to know many hidden facts i.e. user experience and refer to “word-of-blogs“.
Another similar report says that Indian job seekers are among the highest users of the Internet. They not only look for new job opportunity through traditional job sites, but are using RSS feeds and SMS alerts to get instant notification. Even many recruiters now prefer online tests rather than traditional written test. Well, it’s economical and environment-friendly too.
Various discussion forums and orkut communities are bridging the gap between employees and employers where people talk on Company X Vs. Company Y, question paper pattern, number of intakes, pay packages, date of joining, project assigned, work culture .etc. many more hidden issues. An example, these days orkut is hot with discussions on IBM firing freshers and TCS salary reduction.
Previously we have blogged on recruiters hiring through social networking sites and blogs, about Job Referral sites to be the next wave in E-Recruitment and also on the concept of Job Search 2.0. Combining all, can be termed as ‘Corporate 2.0‘!

Hi Rupesh.. After reading this article I just got to remember our old days of collage when u searched a lot about your cell Nokia 6020 on the net.. But it happened after buying that cell..
Ya you are right but not 100%.. in India only 60 to 70 million people are using Internet.. from them more than 50% people are using net only for the e-mails.. the rest is near about 30 to 35 million people who are using net beyond the e-mails.. And as per my thinking it will not represent the whole 1.15 billion Indians.. But they can represent the whole net users of India..
