If you people can remember back in September 1998 Larry Page and Sergey Brin gave a birth to world’s favorite search engine Google. Dr. Eric Schmidt later on joined it as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 2000. Since then everything is history. They have been in market now for more than 10 years. But it has never been an easy job for Google. They have continuously been facing competition from companies like Yahoo, Microsoft and even Wikipedia. But still Google has an upper hand to some extent.

In a joint interview for Fortune’s February 4th issue, Google’s top three executive Larry Page, Sergey Brin and Eric Schmidt said that in a pact before the Companies IPO back in August 2004 they had pledged to work together for 20 years.

“We agreed the month before we went public that we should work together for 20 years,” said Schmidt, who added that he will be 69 years old by that time. Page would be 51 and Brin 50.

This commitment by them is an excellent example for all startup companies who usually enter into such partnership for a short term expecting high returns especially in India.

Coming back to Google, Back in 2006, when Larry Page was asked about the future of search, he answered “We want to create the ultimate search engine that can understand anything … some would call that artificial intelligence. It would give you back the exact right thing instantly.”

Still they haven’t been able to deliver it but yet hope floats.:)

Hopefully by then we get such search engine either by Google or by some other.
