"Bombay Stock Exchange , however was not affected as it was connected through VPN."

What? Did I read that correct, ins't VPN traffic supposed to flow on a public network? Internet in this case?

If they are connected using their own network backbone (wires, satellites, et cetera) they already have a private network in that case. So how does VPN comes into picture?

People are using VPN technology to expand their local network across the world to using Internet!

The quality of the post, especially the grammar flow, leaves lot to be desired.

Hope you will accept this as critical feedback.
