After launching Facebook Application, Nautanki.tv Partners With Games2Win for Flash Games

Nautanki.tv, which started off as an online video channel, has now expanded its services by including games offering to its services. The games will be provided by Games2Win and will be accessible through a widget.

Nautanki.tv has been offering video content for online viewing. All the content is original. There is no user generated content (UGC) and Nautanki currently produces all the content that it streams.

Nautanki allows the bloggers and website owners to place a widget in their websites which shows the videos streamed from Nautanki.tv. Two ads are placed, one each before and after the video content. And the revenue generated from the ad-viewing is shared with the publishers. Nautanki thus allows the publishers to make money from distributing their content.

Allowing games on their website is a part of Nautanki.tv’s strategy to become a platform for content creators. Nautanki.tv wants to be the ultimate platform for distributing all entertainment and video related content online.

Earlier this year, Nautanki.tv launched its Facebook application. Another smart move by a company that aims to reach a wide range of audience. A Facebook application gives instant reach to thousands of audience and a viral impact for the content.

Business Standard reported that Nautanki.tv is looking for a revenue of Rs. 12 crore in 2008. That might look like a lot, but if they achieve what they are aiming at, namely becoming the platform for serving video content, this figure looks justified. This said, the ad-rates of Nautanki.tv are nowhere close to those paid by Google AdSense.

Nautanki.tv charges the advertisers Rs.5 per view and they share 15% of this with you. Converted to US Dollars, it comes to around $ 0.01875 per view. Google pays you $ 0.04 per click. Nautanki.tv sends you a check only after you have accumulated at least Rs. 10,000 or $ 250. Google send you your money after you have $ 100 in your account. Nautanki.tv pays you after 45 days. Google pays you after 30 days.

Nautanki needs some serious re-considerations in its pay-out structure. A user needs to have a compelling reason to move away from Google AdSense. And currently, that’s not what Nautanki.tv is offering.

  1. Nautanki is a decent option for blogs in regional languages because AdSense bots don’t understand their context and therefore may serve irrelevant ads.

“Google pays you $ 0.04 per click.” – How did you derive this number ?

  2. @Amit

I do not have the numbers for the websites in regional languages, but I am sure as of now, they do not form a sizable chunk of the current websites. Agreed, there are more number of people communicating in the regional languages than in English, but how may of them use the Internet in that language ?
Here is another article that sheds some light on this.

And the source of Google ad rates. Well, read the post again, you can find the link there.

  5. You should not expect payments from them. This is their mantra. They are such annoying company, who dont know what is a customer care.
You dont believe …They have not paid me 40,000 rupees, which I earned from nautanki. Nautanki sucks.

  6. It is mentioned that all content on this site is original and as per you words “Nautanki currently produces all the content that it streams”

This is not true. View the site and you will see content from TV channels etc. Not sure if they have the rights to stream this content.
