YouTube Videos Now On 3G Cell Phones

In one of my recent posts I had discussed about the IIT classes now on YouTube. This service could only be accessed through a laptop or your PC’s. YouTube videos can now be accessed on your mobile phones. The minimum requirement for the mobile phone to download the YouTube video is the feature of 3G.
What is 3G?
3G stands for 3rd Generation of mobile phones and offers a better internet connection speeds. Much better than today’s GPRS connection. This feature uses the broadband connectivity and hence makes it possible for the users to download the YouTube videos on their PD’s or “smart” cell phones.
YouTube was bought by Google in 2006 and the site is now used for various purposes. Presently, along with ads you will find a lot of other videos like albums, shows, clips and many more. This service will not only allow the users to download videos on their cell phones but will also allow them to rate and share the video with their friends.
The videos can be downloaded on the “smart” phones from http://m.youtube.com. The videos are available in 16 countries with 10 different languages like Dutch, French, Japanese and many more.
The service will still take time to start in India as we still use GPRS and not a 3G feature in mobile phones. Mobile connections in India are still unable to use the broadband connection. If this feature is enabled in India then along with commercial videos even educational videos will be available on the cell phones.
