In my earlier posts I have discussed about the virtual school that has been started between India and UK. This step showed that the educational system in India is planning to improve. With this thought Base and ExcelSoft, an e-learning company has launched www.successrunway.com. This site will enable the students to prepare themselves for the entrance test like IIT-JEE, AIEE Karnataka, CET and COMEDK exams. The website will allow students to register themselves from 1st February 2008 and will provide them with study materials and online test.

On this Mr.Vallish of BASE said, “The unique feature of the portal’s online Test Series is that it provides pedagogically strong near-classroom learning experience. Detailed analysis of each question is provided in audio-visual format, with explanation of the solution, concepts, alternate-methods of solving, short-cuts etc. Students can also compare their performance with a larger group”.

The website will not only be useful to 10+2 students but will also provide learning content on mathematics and science at school level by the end of the academic year. To add more value to educational system Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) will launch course video on YouTube. These videos will be beneficial for the IIT students. This will not strict the classrooms to the colleges but will extend it to the place where you live.

On this Krishnan said, “Since our bandwidth is low and a bigger one is more expensive, we decided to experiment with YouTube. Not only will this be available online, it will be free.” This experiment might be helpful to lots of slow learner students and hence the classrooms will be on 24/7 for students.

Few years back, homes were created classrooms by Doordarshan on a national level and the achievement was pretty decent. The educational program still continues and is known as “GyanDarshan”. With the improvement in technology the Indian educational system followed the path of International education system that is getting the classrooms started on Internet. This step made it go national to international.

  1. This successrunway.com site doesn’t run on any non-IE browser. As web 2.0 advocates would you recommend this site?
