TechFest IIT Mumbai - 25th-27th January
Techfest is the annual event organised by IIT and this year i.e. 2008 is touted to be the biggest ever Techfest organised. Big both in terms of the monies that have gone to put it together and also in terms of the attendees and speakers. Talking about speakers the lecture series at IIT at the Techfest is sure to attract major interest from all the technology enthusiasts and this is because the speaker lists reads something like this: Dr. R K Pachauri Chairman, IPCC (Joint winner of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize), Jimmy Wales Founder of Wikipedia, Robert E. Kahn Father of Internet, Henry F. Schaefer Big Bang Theory, Stephen Hawkings, God, Dr. Dinesh Keskar Boeing 787 - ‘The Dreamliner’ Blaise Aguera y Arcas Sea Dragon, Photosynth and Sylvester James Gates, Jr. Supersymmetry Theory.
Besides for this speaker line up IIT is also organising a barcamp at the tech fest for the average tech enthusiast to voice his thoughts. With such an elite speaker list it surely does sound like the Techfest at IIT would one of the “not to miss” kind of events for anyone who is a tech enthusiast.
