We were the first ones to blog about Percept Knorigin’s ad network plans with Ad Chakra (which is launched in association wih Adify a US based ad network). Percept Knorigin has been one the later entrants in the digital advertising space post the severing of ties between Percept and WebPercept (which is now Id8labs). The strategy route that percept seems to be taking is one of acquisitions and partnerships.

So for the ad network they partnered for the backend technology with Adify and are attempting at creating a premium ad network. But for other functions like media buy, search and other digital agency functions they seem to have taken the acquisition route by acquiring a small time agency Searchize from mumbai which was headed by Ryan Govindan and started in 2004. Searchize dealt in Search engine marketing and optimization.

Govindan has been given the new role of head of search and ad network operations at Percept Knorigin. Percept Knorigin already handles some pretty big clients like WAYN.com and Force India. Going forward it does seem that Percept Knorigin may look at more such small acqusition deals to complete its full service offerings but only time will tell whether a full service model is the right way to go given the sky rocketing and also the online ad budgets of most top marketers stay slim or dependant mostly on ROI.
