Email It!
(Updated) - I have been further informed by my sources that UTV would be doing this deal under the company UTV Interactive which was formed in 2000. Also that ITNation will be revamping current and also launching more websites. This deal officially may take a couple of months.
I have still not got any confirmation on this story from ITNation and i tried calling them as well but their PR person isnt available to confirm the story neither i got a response to my mail to their CEO. Ill be more than glad to delete this post if they can deny it.
Also got some call saying this isn’t journalism and some friends calling up saying are you sure about this?? Well WATBlog isn’t a news site nor am i a journalist its a Blog! Its citizen journalism at its best so take it or leave it!
Newspapers have to report on confirmed news (And now a days they do a rubbish job at that too) because they have too much at stake but we can afford to jump the gun and try and bring out industry trends/news/analysis/insights before they actually happen and thats where the fun is. By doing so we risk credibility but when it works it works well :) So i hope people will be able to differentiate now
If you want confirmed 100% right Press Release kind of news please buy your local newspaper! But if you want to read something interesting before its time kind of news, trends, analysis, insights and updates then read us! We take a stand and we have an opinion and therefore we are WATBlog
(Original Story) You are reading it first here: We have confirmed news from reliable sources that UTV has acquired ITNation the company that owns and runs digital news properties like Techtree.com , CXOToday.com, Channeltimes.com & Enterpriser.in. Though there is still official announcement to be made on the exact details of this dealthe internal restructuring of staff within ITNation has already started to take place. We have sent a mail to the Founder & CEO Mr.Pavan Sood to confirm the story and possibly give us a few more details.

ITNation also owns an offline magazine 360 that covers trends in the technology reselling business. UTV had earlier acquired a controlling stake in indiagames a online and mobile gaming company. Unlike its media contemporaries Network18 and NDTV media who seem to be creating properties UTV seems to be more interested in the acquisition route as far as the digital space is concerned. Except for its youth tv channel bindaas for which it seems to be going digital (web and mobile) on its own UTV strategy seems like one of strategic acquisitions.
According to our sources One can expect the tech reviews on techtree to be shown on the UTV Bindaas as a tech show in due course of time. I wouldnt be surprised if Indiagames also benefits from this web tv synergy as their target audience would also fall in the same age group. It will be interesting to see which of the two strategy followed by the different media companies ultimately comes up trumps.. Will it be Network18’s inhouse product creation or UTV’s Acquisition strategy?
