The concept of fantasy cricket isn’t new. The first such fantasy cricket team selection games which became wildly popular was Super Selector by ESPN Star. Launched in 2001 the game super selector became so popular that even cricketing commentators and yesteryear greats like geoffrey boycott and harsha bhogle started competing on the super selector website. Super Selector still continues on the EspnStar website but is no longer the craze that it used to be when it had launched back in 2001-02.

 super selector

Given this success of the super selector format two online gaming companies zapak and games2win have launched their own version of fantasy cricket or super selector.  As most of you might know super selector was a game in which you selected the best eleven from across teams and if all of your players fared well i.e. they scored a hundred or took wickets then you won points for the same.

 zapak

Both Games2win Fantasy cricket and Zapak GOD of Cricket are based on this premise. To attract the online users prized ranging from 3000 for highest ranking for one match to 12000 for winning the entire series. Cricket obviously attracts immense response from the indian audience and even though the fantasy cricket idea is a borrowed one from Espnstar i expect both zapak and games2win to benefit from the cricket crazy nation and the great run that the Indian team is having off late.
