The U.S based internet giant Yahoo! Inc just released the top ten search trends in various categories and the results seem to be obvious to the growing concerns and media reports worldwide. The search trends online depicts the trend of news in the offline media.

Here’s a quick analysis:

About Top Ten News Stories:

The events relating to “Saddam Hussein”, the late dictator general of Iraq, was the most searched news story in 2007. Certainly, the keywords “Iran”, “Iraq” and “US President George W. Bush” did not lag far behind as they are placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively in their rankings. The United States President had called on “Iran” to let IAEA inspectors inspect their nuclear establishments while George W. Bush had already sent US troops to capture “Saddam Hussein” who was hiding in “Iraq”. The media had been largely tracking the stories relating to all the top four keywords: “Saddam Hussein”, “Iran”, “Iraq” and “President George W. Bush”.

There are also news on the web asking whether Bush will attack Iran as Iran’s nukes can spell “W A R”. This is a growing concern amongst developed and developing nations worldwide. Thus, all the top four keyword’s rankings seem to justify their place.
