Exchange Amma’s Virtual Currency To Shop At Sify Mall

Amma! Don’t worry I am not a south Indian guy who is calling out to his mom. Ammas.com a knowledge exchange portal has teamed up with Sify Mall. Sify Mall now offers thousands of people to buy real products with the currency (virtual currency) they earn by answering questions on ammas.com site.

It seems people are either fed up of carrying real money with them or is it the companies who want people to switch over to substitute money? Never the less, people seem to like it. It’s a good and innovative concept. If you are feeling bored at your work place and boss not being around you can try the site to win some of the virtual money and buy some cool gifts for yourself. Hmm.. not a bad idea.

“As far as I’m aware, we’re the first knowledge trading site to do this,” says Rohit Bagad, Head of India Operations for Ammas.com Ltd. “The reason we can do this is because we’ve spent years making sure our system provides a true assessment of the value of answers given. Not based on quantity, or even popularity. But based on the quality of the answer.”

Recently, it was announced that now mobile phones will be used to pay for your purchases, but after all that was your hard earned money. But the virtual money concept by ammas.com seems much better because here you just need to use your brain to earn and shop. Virtual Money linked to real money/real incentives can be future as far as a lot of online transactions are concerned. It is also a good incentive to users. Though, I am not sure about the exact business model for the internet guys who offer these virtual money concepts.
