Email It!
India is shining and the world is witnessing it. India has always been known for its rich and famous heritage and lately it seems to be catching eye of the world and specially UNESCO. Recently, UNESCO has announced its plans of coming out with video encyclopedia about India on web to cover Indian cultural diversities by depicting rituals and performing arts among other things.

The official site being www.indiavideo.org will be highlighting the heritage, geography and unique culture of India. Invis Multimedia, a premier content development organizations specializing in audio-visual production has taken initiative by providing the contents to the site.
Unesco New Delhi director Minja Yang said, “India is a vast country with an extraordinarily ancient and diverse cultural heritage. The unique objective behind this project is to develop an atlas of India that covers not just its geographical features but its cultural ones too. We are very pleased to partner with Invis Multimedia in the creation of a format that is easily accessible world-wide and that will raise awareness of the importance of safeguarding India’s heritage.”
The encyclopedia also aims at covering detailed sections of each state and union territories in India. In this regard their Kerala will be the first state to be covered with two thousand professionally created video clips, which are to be uploaded by March 2008.
This initiative by UNESCO and Invis Multimedia will surely benefit those Indians who have been born and brought up in this country itself, but are still unaware about their motherland. Also Indian Tourism will surely be benefited by it. As more of foreigners visiting different regions of the country can be expected once the site is up. This will help in generating good employment opportunities and also India will gain some foreign currency which will help to improve the current situation of unfavorable Balance of Payment. I expect more of similar steps by UN and Other World Bodies, as it helps not helps India but also other poor and backward countries to grow and also make the world aware about the problems that they daily face.
