We have been very vocal about the reasons why internet companies should consider an application of facebook. And there have been quite a few who have jumped onto the bandwagon like zapak, nautanki, zoho and slideshare! The latest one to join the facebook application gang is Minekey.com a contextual article recommendation widget that got funded for 3 Million $ by NEA-IndoUS Ventures recently.

ithinkBut unlike others Minekey has launched an application that on the face of it has nothing to do with what minekey does infact its not even called the Minekey application Its called Ithink. Ithink is an appliction that asks you your opinion and  about anything from politics, sports and technology to the latest celebrity gossip. Or you can just reflect on your own personal life. You can challenge friends to agree or disagree, and discover which friends have similar points of view.
On the backend, the application is constantly tallying “thought compatibility” to show you where you stand relative to your friends. And the application includes its own “feed” where you can view a live stream of all of your friends’ opinions and comments.

Overall the applications is one of the impressive ones that ive come across from an Indian company. Also the fact the they havent tried to force their product but create an completely new product for facebook is commendable. What remains to be seen is how minekey benefits from this exercise. Sure having lots of facebook users means they can slowly integrate minekey features into this application or even advertise on it but its impact cannot yet be foreseen. All in all good app and id suggest everyone to give it a try and see whats your opinion. :)

  1. Hi Rajiv, I am another Rajiv. I work for Minekey as an evangelist. Thank you for covering iThink and for your endorsement. I won’t disclose our plans yet but we have some exciting things in store. I will be glad to share that with you as soon as I can. If you have any suggestions or feedback about the application itself, please feel free to let me know. Thanks.

  2. One of the more clean, intuitive FB apps out there that is worth keeping around - and I build apps for a living! :-)

    Good job team Minekey!
