Google’s ‘Gphone’ Plans Existence Confirmed; Buys Zingku
Email It!
Earlier as it was rumoured in August 2007 that Google was about to launch its Mobile phone proudly called “GPhone” within two weeks, it was not confirmed by sources from Google that its mobile phone actually existed and was about to launch soon. However, CNET sources chased this cat-and-mouse game to finally know the truth whether a Google Phone existed and is going to be in the offing’ soon.
Isabel Aguilera - Head of Google, Spain and Portugal, confirmed the news on a Spanish news website Noticias.com that Google is working on a mobile phone by saying “Some of the time the engineers are dedicated to developing a mobile phone,”.  Â
However, sources suggest that Google’s plans and initiatives regarding its Gphone will be declared today and Bharti Airtel could be its prestigious partner in the Indian market.Â
It is believed that all gphone users will be able to make free calls to other gtalk users as Google, it is believed, is going to launch an open source linux based OS on its mobile. It is also believed that google is going to include the global positioning system and Gmaps within its Gphone which will enable users to track the location of the person. The game seems to get dirtier than ever as it wont enable people to have enough privacy for themselves.
Meanwhile our sources say that Google has recently bought Zingku, the premier mobile social network, in order to provide a large number of services through its GPhone. Even Zingku has confirmed this move on its home page. This acquisition will certainly enable Google to provide a mobile platform to help connect its Gphone users within themselves which would be as good as orkut which is its online social networking website.
There was already a lot of buzz about the launch of Google Phone or Gphone and even Apple’s iphone amongst sources in the Indian media. Even WSJ and others have been tracking the developments regarding Google’s mobile phone. Google is going to offer a lot of services that it offers online on its gphone. The link that confirms the existence of Google phone in the offering is the Wall Street Journal’s link: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB119377870431576706.html
However, as soon as we find the images from google itself regarding the gphone, we will soon make the effort to put it up on our blog.
