According to Assocham Online sale of consumer goods such as electronics, jewellery and chocolates is likely to shoot up 130 per cent to Rs 575 crore this Diwali as about 30 lakh consumers are expected to place orders through internet!!

The same figure was around  Rs 250 crore last diwali in which nearly 18-20 lakh consumers took part according to Assocham.

Commenting on the ASSOCHAM analysis, its President Mr. Venugopal N Dhoot who is also CEO of Videocon  says that, “the Gujarathis are taking lead in ordering their Diwali requirements of consumer durables product followed by Sindhi’s and Punjabi’s. The percentage of Maharahtrian is equally strong, he added, further pointing out that majority of South Indian’s and Consumers in extreme Himalayas lag behind in e-shopping.

The articles that are likely to be shopped intensively during Diwali would include electronic items, gift articles, idols of Gods and Goddesses, sweets, flowers, clothes & jewellery and diamonds

Keeping this boom in mind a lot of online players have already announed exclusive diwali deals and even exclusive diwali shopping stores. India’s largest portal rediff.com  has launched a special shopping store for diwali gifts accessible at diwaligifts.rediff.com.

Besides for rediff.com the other shopping sites like sify, indiaplaza, indiatimes have also opened shop for diwali offers and are enticing online buyers with discounts.

As diwali closes in on the 9th of November I expect more offers pouring in especially from the travel portals.

I am working on a project from last 1yr which can sell Garments online. Trust me, it is the ONLY way to sell garments online. I will brief you a bit on this -

    Why Garments don’t sell online?
    - Touch and Feel factor
    - Fit & Size Problem

I can solve both these problems and make a customer shop online for his garments without any fear of Fit & Size. I claim that whatever I will deliver to his home will fit him 100%.

A thought to tickle your brain - What if I have measurement of your whole body, on which I will write an algorithm which can tell you What size of Which brand will Fit you BEST.

Please do write me back of feel free to call me anytime if this brief description creates any interest in you.

    Await your call.
