Myntra.com gets Seed Funding from Erasmic Venture Fund
For those who dont know Myntra.com is an online marketplace for on-demand consumer products stuff like T-Shirts, Mugs, Calendars, Keychains, Diaries etc where you can publish you own design on the product and then buy it!
They have various customization tools which enable the user to create and customize his own design. Myntra’s core team comprises of 5 IIT/ IIM graduates with extensive experience in building software products in multiple domains. A large number of them have worked for start-ups in bay area and India. Now you know its not only about a great idea its about great teams as well (even if its just alphabets IIT’s and IIM’s count!)
So Myntra has announced that it has closed an undisclosed seed round of funding from Erasmic Venture Fund and have got Sasha Mirchandani on their board. Myntra CEO Mukesh Bansal had this to say on the use of funds “We believe that these funds will help us significantly improve the customer experience and offer best quality personalized merchandise in India”.
I believe that this service by Myntra would be a great money spinner if corporates are targetted for branded corporate gifts which is usually a huge market during festivities.
