Olive Riley, The World’s Oldest Blogger Celebrates Her 108th Birthday

It is very astounding to know that a great-great grandma who just turned 108 years old yesterday writes about her daily life on her blog “The Life Of Riley”. Olive Riley, the great- great-grandmother who was born two centuries ago in the year 1899 when Australia was still not a nation, currently lives at an aged-care hostel located in Woy Woy, 80 KM North of Sydney, Australia. She has been featured in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Olive Riley talks about her real life stories on her ‘blob’ is what olive calls her blog as. Mike Rubbo, her blogging assistant is the one who types her stories on her blog and has also made a film called “All About Olive” on the life of Olive Riley.

Olive Riley gave birth to three children, married twice, survived the great depression of the 1930’s and the two world wars. Today, as she lives to tell the tales of her colorful life to her great-great-grandchildren, she even loves to swim and drink shandy which is half-beer-half-lemonade.

I guess this proves that blogging knows no limitations or barriers and is irrespective of age, caste, sex, geography or creed. Its fast becoming a form of expression globally that is understood by all and soon enough would be used by most people as well.
