Exclusive: Percept Knorigin to launch its own Ad Network – Adchakra.com

adchakraWell you read it first here! I just dug up this when i bumped into this company blog by adchakra.net which looked like an upcoming ad network with services for both publishers and advertisers. On digging a little deeper I realised that this ad network is actually owned by Percept Knorigin the recently launched agency by Percept after it broke ties with WebPercept which got renamed as Id8 Labs.

If you do a domain lookup on adchakra.net you come to know that its owned by Percept Knorigin! Also the adchakra blog is written by the MD of Percept Knorigin. So this means that another agency (after Quasar which launched tyroo which was later invested in by Yahoo) is looking to jump onto the ad network bandwagon. Percept was earlier in news for winning the account of the international travel community coming to India WAYN.com.

All these ad networks seem to be coming up as an alternative to google adsense and adwords which should actually be credited to create a market for ad networks in the first place. I guess the fight for ad networks is not at the top of the pyramid but its actually at the bottom i.e. how does it get large number of small and medium publishers to signup which could be a critical mass in itself.

In other news about ad networks The other player in this ad network bandwagon is komli which also recently launched a algoGod contest which seeks to crown one expert as the “Algorithms God.”by inviting contestants to solve a common algorithms problem, and whoever is best will receive the algoGod prize! Prize money is around Rs. 2,00,000/-.  More info here.
