Seventymm Revamps and launches Social Network for Movie Buffs!
Email It!
Seventymm the first funded dvd rental company which recently acquired madhouse another dvd rental company has now gone for a site revamp after being in existence for over a year. Along with the new look it has also started a community for its movie buff users.
Supporting the introduction of community features CEO of Raghav Kher said, “We have always believed in creating a community of movie lovers. Through the new site, we are expanding to a global audience.”
With the new community features now every user has a My Hangout page where a profile, friends, movie reviews and quizzes can be displayed and members can also upload pictures and videos, rate and review movies, and have conversations with each other.
It looks like seventymm just added a full fledged social network for movie buffs though im not so sure this has been done in the best possible manner. I mean the initial sign up has been made a little longer by asking users to upload pic and fill up and about me. Also the now the question arises is seventymm a dvd rental site or a social network for movie buffs? I think they ought to work on the seemless integration of both.
Here are the screenshots of the neworking aspects in seventymm (Click thumbnail to view)..

I am a member with Seventymm almost since they launched. Their earlier website had a few glitches and i had to get used to navigating around these glitches. But, this new version of their site, i think is really good. I am really happy with the changes they have made to the various features, specific to movie rentals.
I can now easily navigate from one movie to another, i get a filmography view for my favorite actors and these help me get to all his movies easily and add them to my rental queue.
Also, they have a really cool queue management feature now. I am completely impressed.
Besides that, the new fun stuff and community features they have added to the site, i think is only helping enjoy the Seventymm experience better.
I always wanted to discuss movies with people who liked similar movies, or answer that funny question. I felt limited in the other networking sites, since i got to discuss them only to a certain extent and people dint respond too, since the canvas is wast and you can discuss anything random on other sites.
But with Seventymm, i can be specific about it. I know it sounds like an all praise comment and also that its too early to go all out and praise the Seventymm Team. But, seriously, i think they have done a fine job in integrating the rental service with the new fun and interactive features.
There are a few teething problems, and i am confident they will iron those problems out soon. I am impressed with these guys at Seventymm…great job! Kudos!
this guy akhila is probably an employee or shareholder at seventymm. The fact is, and most people will agree, that seventymm is quite pathetic - and has fast turned into your local video library with almost everyone calling in to order for movies. the concept of the internet seems to be disappearing fast for them. The biggest challenge seems to be lack of complete interaction ofinventory with online information. So if you order two movies today and they don’t have them (which in itself is pathetic) there is no way you will ever know and will continue to wait for the movies forever. The only way seventymm truly works is if you call their service centre and order a movie… which then places them on par with your local movie rental guy - except this one’s got a stylish name.
Seventymm - HORRIBLE SERVICE! Need to invest first in Systems and Customer Service before adding new features to make more money!
Recently subscribed and all the positivity vanishes the moment your cheque is collected.
Ask for a suggestion and they will give an uneducated one! Order a DVD and wait until the delivery boy arrives, or you can call the next morning to check and the reply is its been dispatched.
I waited half a day and then called again to check. Now the reply is “SORRY, SYSTEM FAILURE, DVD WAS NOT DISPATCHED”
Guess these guys can do with some serious investment in SYSTEMS & CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE if they want to be a leading online rental service.
